Boca Raton voters will decide March 9 whether to approve a $125 million bond for a new headquarters, emergency communications center and evidence storage. It's the second try: voters rejected a $175 million bond in March 2026.

The current station at 100 NW Boca Raton Blvd. was built in 1986. A long stretch of rain at the end of September spurred seven roof leaks, public works director Zachary Bihr said, and mold has made some spaces unsafe.

The new plan asks for less money and a smaller building

  • Ballot: March 9, alongside two council races
  • Site: not named in the ballot question
  • Also on the city's list: 6500 Congress Avenue

The city would pick a site after the vote. Mayor Andy Thomson said that gives officials the chance to "continue to get additional feedback from our residents." Sites discussed so far:

City officials have discussed three setups for the new headquarters

Not everyone's sold. Some residents expressed uneasiness about the missing location. "I think this is doomed," resident Richard Warner said.
